Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Manufacturing

What is a backward integrated manufacturing process?

The backward-integrated manufacturing process allows us to oversee every stage of production. We are the backward-integrated fencing, roofing, and siding manufacturer in the Okanagan (Canadian province of British Columbia). We maintain strict quality standards from wire drawing to final assembly at each step. This level of control allows us to fine-tune the materials, processes, and design elements to create fencing products that excel in strength, performance, reliability, and customization.

How long will it take to get my order?

BarrierBoss aims to fulfill orders promptly. For products not requiring assembly, we try to ship within three to five days. Actual delivery is contingent on the chosen shipping method and destination. International shipments may experience additional delays based on custom requirements. Rest assured, our team will work with you to ship your order as soon as possible.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, BarrierBoss provides international shipping for large orders. We can accommodate destinations worldwide. Importantly, no import duties are involved when shipping complete panels to states. Our material origin exempts us from tariffs imposed by the USA. While certain restrictions may apply based on product type and location, our team is available for personalized assistance. Feel free to contact us to discuss your specific international shipping requirements, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free process tailored to your needs.

Fencing

What properties can benefit from corrugated steel metal panels?

Corrugated steel fence panels look great and can work in many different spaces. Here are some popular uses:

  • Backyard fence
  • Animal enclosure
  • Pool enclosure (must be at least 48” in height)
  • Agricultural containment
  • Workshop enclosure

BarrierBoss galvanized metal sheet fence panels are also excellent for properties subject to harsh weather conditions—rain, snow, sleet, hail—bring it on.

Where can we use chain link fencing beyond property protection?

Chain link is a great solution for those seeking a secure pet enclosure, defining designated play areas, constructing sports courts, and vertical gardening. Its adaptability makes it a practical and cost-effective option for various functional and creative applications. Plus, with BarrierBoss chain link, you’re not getting just any old chain link fence. We weave our fence fabric tighter than the others. This gives you a stronger fence with more visible triangles.

Does BarrierBoss install fences?

Yes, BarrierBoss offers professional fence installation services in Canada. We sell what we install (and vice versa). Choose from vinyl, corrugated metal, hog fence, deer fence, or chain link fencing. To schedule your fence installation or inquire about our services, contact us through our website or email at frankc@barrierboss.ca or help@barrierboss.ca.

What is the easiest fence to install yourself?

The easiest fence to install really depends on your level of experience. Chain link fencing is often considered the easiest. However, before starting any fence project, check with your local government for any building restrictions and permitting requirements.

This said, you can DIY a chain link, corrugated metal, vinyl, hog, or deer fence. For expert assistance, BarrierBoss offers professional fence installation services in Canada.

Can BarrierBoss install a vinyl fence in one day?

BarrierBoss can complete a vinyl fence installation in one day after the footings have dried (typically takes three to five days). However, some factors can prevent a quick installation. Please know that the typical timeframe for PVC or vinyl fence installation ranges from three to five days after the footings are dry.

Roofing

What type of properties can benefit from corrugated metal roofing?

Corrugated metal roofing is a great option for many different properties. It is strong, weather-resistant, and fire-resistant and looks amazing. Common uses are residential homes, commercial buildings, agricultural structures, and industrial facilities. Whether you want to improve your curb appeal or grow your property value, corrugated metal roofing from BarrierBoss is the boss's choice.

What makes BarrierBoss corrugated metal roofing products different than the competition?

We galvanize our 26-gauge steel in-house. We finish all of our metal roofing products with PVDF/ NoFade paint. This is an excellent choice compared to SMP, which many other metal roofing manufacturers use. PVDF, polyvinylidene fluoride, is highly resistant to fade, chalk, rust, and corrosion. Plus, we paint both sides of our metal panels to create a stronger end result.

How long does a corrugated metal roof last?

The lifespan of corrugated metal roofing typically ranges from 40 to 50 years. The best way to keep your corrugated metal roof in the best condition is to inspect it every year for potential damage or to see if any tree branches or other environmental debris need to be removed. Also, be sure to clean out your gutters and downspouts twice a year. This can help avoid moisture accumulation, which can lead to leaks.

Siding

What are the benefits of corrugated metal siding?

More and more property owners are turning to corrugated metal siding because it looks great and lasts a long time. In fact, most steel siding, such as the galvanized steel panels sold by BarrierBoss, will last 40 to 50 years. If that’s not enough, steel siding is highly resistant to bad weather conditions, and it’s recyclable, which is good for our planet.

How do I determine how much corrugated metal siding I need for my property?

Calculate the required corrugated metal siding by multiplying the exterior wall length by the wall height. Don’t forget to include areas with windows or doors. This determines the square footage of the sidewall. Multiply this figure by two for the opposite side. This method will help you get proper measurements. However, when you order, don’t forget to plan a contingency to prepare for errors or damage during construction.

What happens if I purchased too many sheets of siding?

If you purchase excess siding, BarrierBoss accepts returns of unused products in new condition. We make it easy and offer local pickup services, provided your return is within six months of purchase.
